In the Jewish calendar, a new day begins at sunset. A baby born after sunset is considered, for Jewish date purposes, to have been born on the following Jewish day — which shifts the bris date as well.

Eighth day (halachic bris date)
This calculator provides a starting point based on the standard eighth-day rule. It is not a substitute for speaking with Rabbi Hepner, who will confirm the correct date — especially in any case involving a Friday, Saturday, holiday, or a birth affected by medical circumstances (such as a Caesarean birth, jaundice, or a NICU stay), any of which can change when the bris should take place.
