Supply List for the Simchat Bat / Zeved HaBat Ceremony

The following is a list of supplies needed for your newborn Jewish baby girl’s Simchat Bat / Zeved HaBat ceremony. Please have all of the items listed below ready for the ceremony.

1. 1 pack of clear plastic shot glasses
2. Sweet Manachewitz grape wine
3. 1 pillow. The pillow may have a pretty pillow cover.
4. 1 ceremonial chair, or elegant chair. It may be as simple as a folding chair, however a nice formal chair is preferable.
5. A few yarmulkes (kippot) for the guests
6. The mother should dress in formal clothes or all white
7. Preferably, the daughter may be dressed in formal clothes or all white clothes
8. Soft candy, such as fruit gems
9. For families with an older toddler, it is recommended considering a nanny or trusted caregiver to accompany you during the ceremony. This thoughtful arrangement allows both parents to be fully present for this significant life-cycle event while ensuring that your older child receives the attention and care they need.
